Michael Gurau brings to Altman Solon more than 30 years of technology strategy, operations, and private equity experience. Most recently, Michael led B2B-focused Technology practices for strategy consulting firms serving Fortune 50 technology clients, spanning compute, storage, networking, and cloud/mobile platform and application services. Clients included leading semiconductor, networking equipment, compute-centric devices/systems, web platforms and applications, software, and social media market leaders.

At the hardware layer, Michael led engagements on CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, ASICs, PCs, servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and IoT/edge devices/systems. In software and cloud services, Michael’s strategy teams assessed growth and GTM opportunities and strategies tied to productivity, CRM, ERP, cloud platform, security, communications, social media, eCommerce, and storage applications.

Strategy workstreams included customer, channel, and competitor analysis tied to existing and emerging technologies such as virtualization, software-defined networks, internet of things, artificial intelligence, edge computing, blockchain, and 5G. In addition to web and network services focus, Michael led engagements in professional and support services.

Prior to Altman Solon, Michael led Tech growth strategy practices for Kaiser Associates and Beacon Group, both strategy consulting firms serving Fortune 500 companies. Prior to strategy consulting, Michael served as the Chief Financial and Development Officer for a PE-backed nanotechnology advanced materials company. Before this, Michael spent 20 years in venture capital and private equity in the U.S. and Europe. Michael has a BS Finance from Babson College and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business.
