Alumni Spotlights and Reflections

Madison Razaei | Vice President of New Business Strategy, Verizon

Madison joined Altman Solon in the Boston office in 2012. Following a brief stint at Solon Munich, she relocated to the San Francisco office in 2015. Now at Verizon, Madison focuses on identifying and pursuing large, near-term augmentation opportunities for the telco business. Madison holds a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Wharton.

“Altman Solon turbo-launched my career and I could not be more grateful. I had the privilege of being surrounded by brilliant, kind people who generously contributed their time and knowledge to my development. I learned how to identify big problems, find answers when they were not apparent, and align around the data-driven truth. It also laid a framework for how to build a culture based on shared values and compassion. Altman Solon is a special place and I am honored to be an alumna.”

Yifei Huang | Network Strategist, Vodafone Australia

Yifei Huang joined Altman Solon (formerly Venture Consulting) in January 2017 after earning a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of New South Wales Australia and a doctorate in electrical engineering, specializing in 5G networks, from Australian National University. Within two years, he became a Lead Telco Specialist, then joined Vodafone Australia as Network Strategist. He is now pursuing an MBA at London Business School.

Looking back on his years at Altman Solon, Yifei says: “I developed strong strategic and consulting skills during my years at the company and have remained in contact with my former colleagues since I left the company. Altman Solon gave me the opportunity to sharpen my analytical skills and gain experience in the world of professional consulting and this allowed me to make a career leap into becoming an expert in the wireless and Telco industry.”

Mir Faiyaz | Partner, Soma Capital

Mir interned at Altman Solon in the summer of 2015 and joined full-time in 2016 after graduating from Dartmouth College. Since leaving the firm, he worked at Iconiq Capital on the growth investing team until he joined Soma Capital, a multi-stage Silicon Valley venture capital group, as an investor. At Soma, Mir is helping out with early-stage investments while also building out their growth-stage investing platform.

“Altman Solon has been instrumental to my career development. The skills I learned while at Altman helped me ramp quickly into my new roles after and allowed me to contribute early on. The training and mentorship, combined with its culture of excellence, has instilled in me a certain dedication to quality that I’m confident will stand me in good stead for the rest of my career. I thank Altman Solon for investing in my growth, both personal and professional, and for giving me the opportunity to make lifelong friends that are still close to me today!”

Rashmi Melgiri | Entrepreneur, Co-Founder, CoverWallet

Rashmi joined Altman Solon as a Consultant in 2009. Prior to joining the firm, Rashmi earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an MBA at MIT Sloan. Shortly after CoverWallet was acquired by Aon in 2020, Rashmi decided to begin working on a new startup – stay tuned!

“My time at Altman Solon established the foundation for dissecting problems, envisioning a solution, planning a project, and managing a team to execute. At Altman Solon, I always loved that the people in the highest positions in the company could, and often would, do any of the roles required on a team, which was instrumental in making them the effective leaders that they are. The firm’s leadership has done a tremendous job building a culture where everyone is treated with respect, encouraged, and supported through their professional journeys.”
