Khairil Abdullah advises Altman Solon and its clients on digital businesses in telecommunications and AI monetization. His work focuses on helping operators develop and scale new growth engines in areas such as fintech, OTT services, data and AI, and API platforms. He brings deep expertise in telco operations, digital business strategy, M&A, and corporate venture capital across Asia and Europe.
Before joining Altman Solon, Khairil served as Group CEO of VEON Ventures, the digital arm of VEON Group, where he oversaw new and existing digital businesses in fintech, ad tech, data and AI, OTT, IoT, and API services. He was previously CEO of Axiata Digital, the digital business unit of Axiata Group, where he built and scaled one of Southeast Asia’s largest data and AI businesses and launched a leading mobile payment and digital banking platform. Earlier in his career, Khairil was Group Chief Operating and Marketing Officer at Axiata Group and a Partner at Bain & Company, where he led the Southeast Asia telecommunications practice.
Khairil holds an MBA from INSEAD and an M.Eng., M.A., and B.A. in Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
